The Foxfire Affair – FREE PERFORMANCE

The Amherst Opera House Co. Guild is pleased to present a FREE event on Thursday, August 11th, 2022. Come and enjoy the performance in our 120 year old historic Amherst Opera House. The Opera House was designed and built in 1902, opened on January 3, 1903 and was the premier gathering place for Amherst and surrounding area residents. The building sat vacant for most of the last 50 years. The AOHCG 501(c)3 has been busy working to bring it back to it’s original use. It is a unique musical venue and offers you the opportunity to experience “Entertainments” as they were presented in a less hectic time, circa 1930’s.
Daniel and Claire make up the duo, “the foxfire affair.” These multi-instrumentalists entertain with a guitar, mandolin, cajon, and other instruments to complement their varied musical selections. While trading off lead vocals and harmonies, they’ll span several centuries of music playing everything from Irish Traditionals to sea shanties, American folk to rock, and a touch of original material. Not only are they married to one another but also to their craft. They love performing and sharing music with others.
